Since 2021, Watson Links has been teeing up on-course opportunity and golf mentoring for the Kansas City community and beyond. Watson Links founder and 8-time major champion – Tom Watson – is a Kansas City native. He has long supported the area’s junior golf efforts. Today he is paving the way for others to give back through golf via Watson Links.
With the help of area partners and courses, we make FREE on-course experiences more accessible and connect generations of players to drive learning and fun! The goal: to create community connections, spark personal growth and drive access and opportunity!
Kansas City is our flagship location! With our staff based here, this is our learning lab to try new things and establish exciting initiatives that can have a national impact through our growing network of locations!
We welcome junior players (ages 10-18) and vetted mentors from across the KC metro. Juniors’ skill levels range from OPEN level (beginners to on-course play) to MASTER golfers (advanced players looking for fun and new perspectives). Mentors come from private and public courses and range from scratch golfers to weekend warriors. Adult players who are open to giving back through golf and completing our safety requirements can make a major impact!
Some of our programs are open to the public and others are reserved for specific groups of juniors and mentors.
How Do I Get Started?
All mentors and parents need to REGISTER HERE. Our registration platform is your go-to hub for what’s coming up and our mentor, parent and junior resources. Once you’ve signed up for tee times or events, you will receive email reminders and can add to your personal calendar.
Our KC program manager can also help share more about our opportunities. Russ Barker, [email protected]
What’s Coming Up
Our 2025 season is coming to a close but we do have a fun team event in store in September!
Watson Links aims to eliminate barriers to on-course play – providing access through free times, knowledge through mentors and more. As our “learning lab,” KC was home to many new, fun opportunities in 2025! We offer opportunities (near and far) with the help of local partners.
What about 2026?
In 2025, we hosted meetups for parents, juniors and mentors in April. Our season typically runs from May – September. If you want to stay in the know about what’s going on, be sure to register in the web app or reach out to [email protected].
