Become a Golf Mentor

Watson Links is breaking down barriers to the game including: access, cost, and knowledge, and Golf Mentors play a big role. Through creative golf mentoring initiatives, vetted adult golf mentors are paired junior golfers to play fun, generally 9-hole rounds, free of charge. During these mentor-driven rounds adult mentors donate their time to serve as positive role models, sharing golf etiquette and building confidence and connections in junior golfers ages 10-18. Event formats vary!

Why Golf Mentoring?

There’s something special that happens when golf meets mentoring. It’s more than just a game; it becomes a powerful tool for connection, confidence, and growth. There are countless benefits to golf mentoring experiences.

Our why is simple: tee up young people for confidence and fun alongside vetted adult players, growth happens and communities benefit. At Watson Links, we see it every day. A young person takes a shot, looks up at a golf mentor for guidance, and suddenly a simple round of golf turns into something so much more. These rounds empower the mentors as much as the kids. Mentors are not golf pros – they are just a little further along in their golf journey. Their presence, willingness to model confidence and positivity paves the way for a passion for play. When golf meets mentoring, magic happens. Watson Links is there to tee up these opportunities and help all feel prepared.

Typically two mentors tee it up alongside two junior players (of all skill levels). Through the Watson Links web app, mentors and parents can register to participate and sign up for local opportunities. A local program manager is there to help and coordinate activities in that market. You can sign up whether or not there is currently a program in your area! Users can see what’s going on across our growing network.

Many mentors invite their golfing friends to play together! All golf mentors undergo a background check to participate. Learn where to find our programs and explore some of our most frequently asked questions.
